The Challenge

Create an above the fold landing page for a fictional company

Research

For this project since I decided to come up with a fictional company called Assemble. Assemble is fictional alternative socializing software similar to companies such as meetup, Eventbrite and etc. Allowing a user to create, join a group to attend local events. So looking at the use cases of the other companies, the personas became apparent and they were the newcomer, host, and business partner. First, a newcomer would be one of the personas since this software can be used to make new friends in a new city. The second persona would be the host since there has to be an event organizer to create and maintain a group. Another potential persona is the business partner this person would be joining groups to create a social network for potential opportunities. Following the persona construction, I began to research other above the fold landing pagesĀ  to be able to deconstruct the necessary elements to make a quality page. They were navigation, headline, call to action and photographs/ video.

Solution

Based on the necessary elements the navigation, headline, call to action and photographs. I started to work on them with the user personas as a guide to add information according to what they would want to know. For the navigation having an about, how it works page, signup and login section was necessary to add since it covers the software basic information. Next was having a headline to draw the reader in. The call to action in this context was the download and learn more buttons so the user can choose what action to next. Lastly, the pictures made as dynamic set of profile pictures to showcase a growing community.
